JOB SUMMARY:The Converting Assistant is responsible for assisting in the operation of slitting and rewinding equipment used to convert large rolls of material into finished rolls according to customer specifications. This position supports production goals by maintaining quality standards, following safety procedures, and ensuring efficient machine operation. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with the setting up and operation of slitting machines according to job specificationsLoad and unload rolls of materialIdentify and report quality, equipment, or material issuesMonitor machine operation to ensure proper tension, alignment, and cut accuracyPerform basic machine adjustments under supervisionInspects materials for defects and ensure finished products meet quality requirementsAssist with routine machine adjustments and basic preventative maintenanceComplete required production documentation accurately and timelyMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standardsCommunicate effectively with leadership and warehouse teamsPerform other related duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:High school diplomaPrevious experience in manufacturing, converting, or slitting operations preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipmentAbility to read measuring devicesStrong attention to detail and quality focusAbility to stand for extended periodsLift up to 60 poundsFrequent bending, reaching and material handlingStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to work safely in a manufacturing environment BENEFITS:At Phenix, we believe in taking care of our people—both personally and professionally.
