About the role

Controls Testing Technician, where you will inspect, test, and verify industrial electrical and mechanical systems to ensure the highest standards of safety, functionality, and manufacturing quality.

Responsibilities

  • Safely test industrial electrical equipment from 24vdc to 480vac.
  • Perform function tests on all products.
  • Able to use electrical testing tools such as fluke multimeter, insulation testing Meters, High Potential Voltage testers, ETC.
  • Complete inspection/testing documentation.
  • Proficiently interpret data from electrical and mechanical diagrams and schematics.
  • Perform QC hold points and verify manufacturing quality/non-conformances.
  • Must be computer literate (e.g., basic data entry programs and time-entry applications).
  • Must be willing to travel to multiple manufacturing locations to perform QC checks and training.
  • Represent the organization with the ability to be a liaison to our customers, adhere to company standards, and resolve issues with urgency and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in an Engineering field preferred. Combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • 0-2 years troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, power, and control systems.
  • 0-2 years troubleshooting mechanical and pumping systems.
  • 0-2 years in quality control.
  • NFPA 70E Certified preferred.
  • Proficient use of hand tools and test equipment is necessary.
  • Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
  • Must work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Must meet deadlines while working safely and producing a quality product.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime.
  • Must adhere to the Company’s attendance policy.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk and hear.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. regularly is required.
  • Must be able to stand/walk 90% of the time and sit 10% of the time.
  • Requires the ability to work from heights while utilizing the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for each situation.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with an uncontrolled atmosphere.
  • Exposure to harsh conditions—such as dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures—for short periods is possible.
  • All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
