About the role
This role is an internship for a LONG Controls Technician. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7am to 3:30pm with potential for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Aid in programming databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturer recommendations, in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents.
- Assist with the installation of control system devices and wiring in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents.
- Support the calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure that specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met.
- Assist the graphics coordinator and/or provide the labor and expertise for the preparation and delivery of graphical user interfaces when required for projects in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents.
- Perform panel fabrication and light programming tasks.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years old.
- Strong analytical skills in solving software and integration challenges.
- Good mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
- Some working knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and willing to accept responsibility and accountability.
- Excellent customer service and analytical skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of personnel including department managers, project managers, engineers, sales, and controls technicians.
- Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in a Building Automation Educational Program or similar field of study.
