ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods.
- Responsible for analyzing and resolving electrical problems, troubleshooting and continuous improvement on analog/digital electronic control systems, PLC programming, HMI systems and computer network communications.
- Aid in directing plant mechanics as needed to complete repairs.
- Document and implements work order procedures for new equipment/technology and the complete documentation of all system modifications.
- Responsible for installation and maintenance of Process Control Instruments, both pneumatic and electronic.
- Repair, calibrate and clean all instruments, pressure switches, flow tubes and gauges to ensure minimal downtime and efficient utilization of pneumatic and electronic equipment.
- Use and wear safety and protective equipment, as required.
- Attend training to develop and improve knowledge and skills.
- Adhere to proper cleaning methods, storage, and proper care of equipment and supplies.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect employees, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Track software versions for maintaining licenses, specifying contracts, ordering new equipment and obtaining service contracts.
- Verify new components and software meet current Faribault Foods standards and are compatible with current architecture.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Must have GED, high school diploma or higher and one to two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- College coursework in electronics or controls preferred.
- Previous hands-on experience with PLC controls and logic circuits required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
- PLC and HMI controls experience required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
