About the role
As a Controls Systems Technician you will be our point of contact to clients and execute design, programming, commissioning, technical support and project management services for building automation controls projects. You will direct the project preplanning process, accurately scope tasks and projects, develop schedules, and collaborate with the project team to proactively resolve problems.
- Proactively monitor costs, react to variations, and control productivity; schedule subcontractors and escalate problems to management.
- Evaluate scope changes, additional work orders, and client needs.
- Coordinate work with other trades, perform start-ups and commissioning as needed.
- Determine equipment and materials required for system performance and proactively identify problems.
- Provide technical guidance to diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort.
- Troubleshoot local controllers, communication wiring, programs, and schedules to identify concerns and determine corrective action.
- Ensure proper measurement and verification (M&V) equipment functionality, including accurate data recording and storage.
Requirements
- Must pass background check.
- Advanced written, verbal, customer service, and relationship-building skills.
- High-level organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to change.
- Ability to work well with others internally and externally, including in stressful situations.
- Proficiency in standard office computer programs such as MS Office 365.
- Knowledge of the industry is recommended but not required.
- Ability to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, or similar experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of operational concepts including planning, scheduling, and logistics.
- Ability to multi-task under the pressure of multiple projects.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 to $80,000 per year depending on qualifications.
