This role is highly execution-focused and hands-on, owning the technical bring-up of Industrial PCs (IPCs), PLCs, industrial networks, and field devices during installation and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities
- Execute on-site commissioning activities for sorters, conveyors, and automated work cells.
- Provision, configure, and validate Linux-based IPCs, PLCs, HMIs, industrial networks, and field devices per project standards.
- Perform I/O checkouts, network validation, and phased system bring-up activities.
- Execute commissioning and test plans, including sequencing, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
- Support dry runs, functional testing, and integrated system testing through startup and handover.
- Serve as the primary on-site technical resource for controls, networking, and system integration issues.
- Diagnose and resolve industrial networking problems (e.g., IP conflicts, VLAN issues, switch configuration, fieldbus communication faults).
- Trussle PLC logic, device configuration, safety interlocks, and system-level faults across electrical, controls, and mechanical boundaries.
- Perform structured root-cause analysis and support implementation of permanent corrective actions.
- Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to support continuous improvement and future deployments.
- Provide day-to-day technical direction to technicians, electricians, and commissioning support personnel during system deployment.
- Coooperate closely with system integrators, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and unblock progress.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and commissioning best practices during installation and testing.
- Validate equipment functionality against design specifications, controls standards, and operational requirements.
- Support integration of equipment into Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and higher-level orchestration layers.
