About the role

Lincoln Electric’s Automation facility in Bettendorf, IA is looking for bright, driven engineering individuals to join the Controls Engineering Internship Program. This program connects your academic foundation with real-world, hands-on experience in controls engineering. Interns will work alongside experienced engineers to design, debug, and troubleshoot software in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

This position requires participation in an Immersion Day at the Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses.

Responsibilities

• Design PLC software and HMIs for industrial automation equipment
• Debug and troubleshoot PLC software
• Maintain task lists and reports of open items
• Maintain project design documentation and prepare customer deliverables
• Ensure the controls engineering process is tracked and followed

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering
• Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• An engineering degree in electrical engineering or a related field
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
• Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Familiarity with OSHA, SDS, and ANSI (RIA) safety standards
