Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.
- Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities and identify needs for successful completion of projects.
- Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement.
- Day-to-day interaction and management of engineering team including recruiting, hiring, and training.
- Establish and approve documentation and processes.
- Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets and ensure product/project best industry practices.
- Provide insight on strategic technical focus to executive team.
- Establish documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow.
- Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department and critical input to effectively solve engineering problems.
- Approve design documentation including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
- Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive industrial controls or automation engineering experience required.
- 3+ years in a direct leadership role.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
- Experience with PLCs - Ladder Logic.
- Up to 25% travel.
