Controls Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.
• Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities and identify needs for successful completion of projects.
• Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement.
• Day-to-day interaction and management of engineering team including recruiting, hiring, and training.
• Establish and approve documentation and processes.
• Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets and ensure product/project best industry practices.
• Provide insight on strategic technical focus to executive team.
• Establish documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow.
• Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department and critical input to effectively solve engineering problems.
• Approve design documentation including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
• Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
• 6+ years of progressive industrial controls or automation engineering experience required.
• 3+ years in a direct leadership role.
• High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Experience with PLCs - Ladder Logic.
• Up to 25% travel.
