About the role
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the development of innovative automation systems from initial design through customer startup. As a growing industrial automation company, we design and build custom turnkey automation systems for manufacturers across a variety of industries, including robotic assembly systems, material handling equipment, testing systems, vision inspection applications, and lean manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems
- Develop and modify HMI applications
- Configure and integrate industrial networks and automation hardware
- Support robotic and machine vision integrations
- Create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and related documentation
- Participate in machine startup, debug, testing, and commissioning activities
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, machine builders, and customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Support factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)
- Travel occasionally to customer sites for installation and startup support
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline
Skills
- Experience programming PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms
- Experience with HMI development and industrial automation systems
- Familiarity with robotics, machine vision, and motion control systems is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and project coordination abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced custom automation environment

Pay
$90k-130k/year
