Controls Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in selecting, installing, and programming automated control systems (e.g., Rockwell, Wonderware, Siemens, etc.) for SLC assets.
• Safeguard the integrity of SLC programs and mitigate unauthorized modifications.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and alarm management to enhance process control in manufacturing operations.
• Affirm accurate and accessible electrical documentation for efficient troubleshooting and maintenance of SLC assets.
• Assists in troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
• Participates in PHA’s for PSM critical processes and provides expertise on established Control Systems.
• Led RCCA program for Electrical/Control System failures and provides corrective actions for overall equipment effectiveness.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams on Continuous Improvement and upgrades to existing SLC assets, includes Capital Projects.
• Manages compliance program for asset calibrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field or Associates degree in Automation and Controls with relevant experience
• 5+ years’ experience in controls engineering, process automation required
• Strong knowledge of automated control systems, such as Rockwell, Wonderware, and Siemens
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Proficient in electrical documentation and troubleshooting techniques and familiarity with machine networking and communication protocols
• Lear and Six Sigma certification preferred
• Experience with SCADA (Ignition) software preferred
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience incorporating machine data, operational data, and vendor data to drive continuous improvement preferred

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.
