Responsibilities
- Create detailed electrical / controls schematics and documentation for custom bulk material handling equipment and integrated systems designed, engineered, and built by National Bulk Equipment (NBE).
- Support additional documentation requirements such as P&ID’s, Interconnection Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Conduit Schedules, Harness Lists, Instrument Lists, I/O Lists, and other required documents as outlined by customer specifications.
- Work directly with mechanical engineers, project managers, and sales/application engineers to fully understand project scope and functional requirements.
- Interpret customer specifications and ensure all electrical design outputs comply with those requirements, as well as NBE’s engineering standards.
- Participate in design reviews, offering recommendations for improved functionality, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with AutoCAD Electrical, or similar electrical CAD software.
- Solid understanding of AC/DC electrical systems, safety systems, and automation components.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards - National Electrical Code (NEC®) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA®) code.
- Ability to read and interpret pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
- Experience in programmable logic controller (PLC) programming.
- Familiarity with UL 508A control panel requirements.
