Job Overview The Commissioning Engineer role is an individual contributor position within Toyota Automated Logistics. This role responsible for tasks spread across multiple controls projects and will be capable of all phases of a controls project including concept and research, network design, panel design, ACAD layout, device troubleshooting, PLC/VLC programming, HMI tagging, on site installation, debug and onsite commissioning. Job Functions Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our engineering standardsFollow standard SOPs for each phase of a projectWrite technical documents including Functional Spec Documents (FSDs)Design Field Device LayoutsDesign Electrical Schematics using ACAD ElectricalDevelop PLC programs following our standardsStartup and commission full systems from start to finishIdentifies and resolves challenges to support both team efficiency and customer satisfactionMaintains open and transparent communication, including while on-site, with peers, stakeholders, and leadership to support project successDrives customer success by delivering projects that exceed expectations and align with market demandsCompletes training and obtain certification in relevant controls technologies and programsParticipate actively and on time in scheduled meetings, including Controls staff meetingsProvides cross-functional support to project teams, contributing beyond the scope of Controls when neededDevelops innovative Controls techniques, products, or services, maintaining a competitive edge in the industryCompletes administrative tasks promptly, including timesheets and expense reportsRepresents Toyota Automated Logistics professionally, promoting the company in relevant forumsCultivates long-term customer relationships, driving repeat business and trustAdapts to evolving responsibilities, taking on additional duties as needed Travel Requirements Overnight travel between 30-50% Required Qualifications And Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 1+ years’ experience in industryPLC/HMI experience Panel design experience Hands-on and mechanical aptitude Computer literate with MS Office products AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred Material Handling experience is a plus Strong team collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines effectivelyHighly motivated and results-drivenExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 1+ years’ experience in industryPLC/HMI experience Panel design experience Hands-on and mechanical aptitude Computer literate with MS Office products AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred Material Handling experience is a plus Strong team collaboration skillsDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines effectivelyHighly motivated and results-drivenExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
