Job Overview

The Controller of Systems Control will oversee the accounting function while helping develop financial strategy to manage the company’s growth while maintaining the core values and culture.

This role requires an individual with a strong background in accounting, accounting process and system improvements, internal controls, and hands-on experience. Regular travel to Iron Mountain, MI is required.

About the Role

This role can be based in the St. Louis office or may sit remotely within a 3-4 hour drive of Iron Mountain, MI. Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly closing process.
  • Cookinate and manage external statutory audits and tax compliance.
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement a continuous improvement culture and drive continuous improvement activities across all accounting processes, with particular emphasis on the month-end closing process.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX and Hubbell Accounting practices and federal, state and local regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • A CPA or MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 6 to 10 years of corporate accounting experience in a public company, manufacturing environment highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Results-oriented, with a very strong drive, work ethic and commitment to excellence.
  • Strong computer skills, with particular emphasis on financial ERP systems and Excel.
  • Hands on experience with SAP and OneStream a significant plus.
  • Ability to develop and articulate strategy coupled with a willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do the work.
  • Outstanding analytical skills, a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and the ability to engage with senior leaders in addressing complex business issues.
  • Strong communication, presentation, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
