Controller, Sr
About the role
As a Senior Controller at StandardAero, you will serve as a key member of the Leadership team. Your responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the financial performance of specific business units/programs
- Carrying out initiatives to improve profits, reduce costs, evaluate capital investments, and make best use of available resources
- Managing the Inventory Cycle Process, performing monthly inventory reconciliation, and conducting annual physical inventory
- Leading the Costing process and Work Process Inventory
- Ensuring compliance with US Government Cost Accounting Standards and Company Internal Controls
- Supporting the Leadership team in product cost/profitability analysis and management, including standard cost updates and resource usage estimates
- Providing support to the Stockton, California site
Responsibilities
Key duties include:
- Performing Monthly Profitability and Variance Analysis
- Developing timely and accurate plant financial forecasts and annual budget
- Reviewing plant customer billing statements for accuracy and terms, and resolving billing errors or discrepancies where appropriate
- Supporting StandardAero's Leadership team in product cost/profitability analysis and management
- Leading the Inventory Cycle Process, performing monthly inventory reconciliation, and conducting annual physical inventory
- Managing StandardAero's Leadership team in Costing process and Work Process Inventory
- Ensuring compliance with US Government Cost Accounting Standards & Company Internal Controls
- Planning and managing Inventory Cycle Process, performing monthly inventory reconciliation and annual physical inventory
- Leading Standard Aero's Leadership team in Costing process and Work Process Inventory
- Supporting StandardAero's Leadership team in product cost/profitability analysis and management
- Providing support to the Stockton, California site
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10+ years financial planning and analysis, cost accountant, or plant finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Superior operational orientation, business modeling, and analytical skills
- Strong technology skills within Excel and database tools, with working experience with large ERP systems
- Strong experience in a standard costing environment
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices
- Demonstrate initiative and possess a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Supervisory experience
- Some travel required
Preferred Characteristics
- Aerospace MRO industry experience
- Oracle or SAP experience
- Strong working knowledge of US Government Contract, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
