About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our well-established company in the Construction industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional to oversee our financial operations and provide strategic leadership in financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with deep expertise in the construction industry. This position will play a pivotal role in our company's growth, providing financial insights that drive business strategy, improve operational efficiency, and boost profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures.
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Work closely with project managers and senior leaders to provide financial insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience supervising accounting staff and managing diverse teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction accounting software and advanced proficiency in general office software, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Pay

$90,000 - $120,000 per year
