Controller

About the role

Vista del Mar Hospital seeks a detail-oriented and experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, manage financial reports, ensure compliance, and support the CEO in driving the financial health of the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation accurately and timely
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Prepare and review budget reports and forecasts
• Prepare corporate required reports timely and accurately
• Supervise accounting staff and provide mentorship and training
• Maintain internal controls and assist with audit processes
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial objectives and improve processes
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance metrics, reporting variances and recommending improvements

Requirements

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting experience as a controller in a healthcare setting is required. Behavioral health settings preferred.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Skills: Proficiency with accounting software, Word, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
• Experience: Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
