About the role
Tidal Vision is hiring a Control Systems Engineer to join Clear Water Services. This position requires extensive knowledge in PLC programming and various design systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using various control systems, such as chemical production lines, water treatment systems, remote monitoring units, etc. Studio 5000 (Allen-Bradley) preferred.
- Create and configure HMIs to meet operator and process requirements. PanelView (Allen-Bradley) and C-More preferred.
- Design control panels, wire-ways, conduit runs, and select appropriate components for high-voltage (600VAC or less) systems.
- Lead projects from design to implementation, ensuring all systems operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Create and update CAD drawings for control panels and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in existing control systems, including third-party systems.
- Travel: estimated >50% travel to various locations, primarily the greater Seattle area and other Pacific Northwest/West Coast locations.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing control systems for high-voltage (480V) applications.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
- Willingness to travel to various work locations.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming.
- Understand and be able to modify electrical schematics.
- Strong experience in designing and implementing control systems for high-voltage (480V) applications.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, etc.).
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
- Willingness to travel to various work locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- SCADA Design: Develop, modify, and maintain SCADA systems for data collection and recipe management spanning wide geographic areas. Ignition by Inductive Automation preferred.
- Database Interaction: Utilize and understand relational databases, such as Microsoft SQL, for reporting, data collection, and system integration as required.

Incumbent is subject to a criminal background check.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work is performed within Clear Water Services' Everett shop and at other construction/industrial job sites. This position will be expected and required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas and while on-site. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required. Candidate must be able to walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, and move freely with minimal limitation.
