Control Systems Engineer - Building Automation
About the role
GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Building Automation Services team. This position focuses on managing specialized work efficiently, with a specific emphasis on Control Systems common in data centers, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries.
Responsibilities
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems common in data center, power generation, and advanced manufacturing industries.
- Designing, developing, and implementing solutions to achieve project goals.
- Lead integration and coordination between mechanical, electrical, and controls systems to ensure seamless operation across platforms.
- Lead development and execution of commissioning procedures, test scripts, and documentation validation.
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications.
- Assisting in project development and planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable).
- An equivalent combination of experience and training may also be considered.
- 4+ years of relevant working experience with:
- PLC Programming: Schneider Modicon, Allen-Bradley, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Schneider Electric, and Siemens SCADA Systems.
- Control Systems implementation, design, installs, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with industrial application programming languages.
- Experience with Electrical Schematics, Power Distribution, Water/Cooling systems.
Preferred experience
- AutoCAD or Drafting experience.
- Networking experience (Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc.).
Qualifications
The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, has a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
Skills
- Knowledge of industrial application programming languages.
- Experience with PLC Programming: Schneider Modicon, Allen-Bradley, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, Schneider Electric, and Siemens SCADA Systems.
- Experience with Electrical Schematics, Power Distribution, Water/Cooling systems.

Pay
The target annual base compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000, based upon relevant qualifications.
Schedule
The position is local, but could require up to 50% travel throughout a calendar year.
