Control Systems Engineer

About the role

Work within the Instrumentation, Electrical & Control Systems Department on control systems engineering and designs for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries.

Responsibilities

• Act as a control systems engineer for selected projects
• Interact with other engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients (10%)
• Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for designated projects (5%)
• Perform work process quality review and drawing approval in the capacity of a lead engineer (20%)
• Responsible for PLC/DCS Programming and HMI configuration (40%)
• Perform Software Factory Acceptance Tests and Hardware Acceptance Tests for the plant control system (25%)
• Provide man-hour and equipment estimates for project proposals
• Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities
• Self-motivated with ability to work with others

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Engineering with equivalent I/E & control systems experience required
• 5+ years' experience required, 10+ years preferred
• Must have Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Wonderware HMI development experience
• Delta V Programming experience is a plus
• Industrial networking experience is a plus
• Should be a self-learner and willing to go the extra mile to accomplish tasks
• EIT licensure required or the ability to get licensed after joining the company
• Must have troubleshooting skills
• Must have commissioning and start-up experience
• Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required
