About the role
GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Kalamazoo, MI to join our team. This position focuses on managing specialized work efficiently, with a specific emphasis on Control Systems.
Responsibilities
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems
- Designing, developing, and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications
- Aiding in project development and planning
- Performing onsite pilots, demonstrations, and start-ups
- Field troubleshooting, commissioning, and verification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, ChemE or comparable)
- Minimum 4 years of relevant working experience, specifically with controls
- Experience with industrial application programming languages
- Required experience with Rockwell PLCs
- Basic understanding of Electrical Schematics and electrical installations
- Acute attention to detail and process
- Strong problem-solving and research skills
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments

Skills and Experience
- Rockwell PLCs
- Rockwell HMIs (FTV ME and/or SE)
- InTouch HMIs
- GE iFix
- Strong preference for experience with: GE HMIs (e.g., Cimplicity, iFix), Wonderware / AVEVA System Platforms, Siemens PLCs, Historian experience (WW Historian, Proficy, PI)
- Preference for experience within: Other PLC and/or HMI experience (i.e.Win CC HMI), Database experience (MS SQL Server), FT BatchVision experience (Cognex, Keyence, Systech)
