Control Systems Engineer

About the role

Responsibilities

• Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on Control Systems Designing, developing, and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues.
• Consulting with and training end users on new applications.
• Aiding in project development and planning.
• Performing onsite pilots, FAT sing, SAT sing, and demos as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable).
• An equivalent combination of experience and training will also be considered.
• Experience with industrial PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, etc.).
• Required experience with Rockwell PLCs.
• Control Systems implementation, design, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and electrical installations.
• Acute attention to detail and process.
• Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions.
• Excellent customer service attitude.
• Ability to work both independently and in team environments.

Skills and Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET or comparable).
• Equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
• Experience with industrial PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon, etc.).
• Required experience with Rockwell PLCs.
• Control Systems implementation, design, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and electrical installations.

• Strong ability to solve problems and research solutions.

• Ability to work both independently and in team environments.

Preferred Skillsets

• Rockwell PLCs & HMIs.
• Wonderware / AVEVA GE iFix.
• Ignition.
• Networking experience (Ethernet IP, Modbus, etc.).
• Conveying/packaging experience.
• Other PLC and/or HMI experience.
• Vision experience (Cognex, Keyence).
• Historian experience.
• Database experience.
• Higher level programming such as C++, C#, Python, etc.
• Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, or packaging experience.
