Control Systems Engineer

About the role

The Control Systems Engineer supports the State Water Project's SCADA control systems under the direction of the Senior Control Engineer. This role involves evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining control system hardware, software, databases, communications, and controller equipment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, designs, implements, and maintains control system hardware, software, databases, communications, and controller equipment.
• Develops engineering designs, specifications, and contract documents.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to coordinate projects.
• Provides technical leadership to engineering and technical staff.
• Oversight of the installation, testing, maintenance, and inspection of control system equipment to ensure reliable operation of the State Water Project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in SCADA control systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA systems, control systems, and related technologies.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with SCADA systems and control systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, or Java.
• Experience with database management systems like SQL.
• Understanding of network protocols and communication systems.
