Key Responsibilities
- Lead control system projects including gas turbine upgrades, migrations, and HMI enhancements.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for gas turbine and BOP control systems in live plant environments.
- Diagnose and resolve issues within DCS and PLC platforms, ensuring high system availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with operations, instrumentation, and maintenance teams to support plant performance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Design, develop, and optimize HMI/SCADA interfaces for improved operator visibility and control.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC, etc.).
- Support instrument calibration and integration including pressure, flow, temperature, and level devices.
- Program, test, and validate PLC logic and control sequences for turbine and plant systems.
- Travel to customer sites for system startups, upgrades, commissioning, and troubleshooting support.
- Identify opportunities for system optimization, modernization, and reliability improvements and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
Core Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on Controls Engineering experience in gas turbine environments (required).
- 5+ years of experience working with industrial automation systems (PLC/DCS).
- Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers/technicians.
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, process control, and instrumentation fundamentals.
- Experience performing control system upgrades, migrations, and system integrations.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot networked control systems and field devices.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical approach to root cause analysis.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Controls Engineering (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GE Mark VI / Mark VIe turbine control systems.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell), Woodward, Emerson Ovation, or Siemens controls platforms.
- Background supporting power generation, turbines, or excitation systems.
- Exposure to IoT, digital transformation, or advanced analytics initiatives.
- Basic programming/scripting experience (Python, C#, .NET, etc.).
