Control System Engineer

About the role

Full-time, onsite position in Columbus, IN. Salary range: $100,000–$125,000 per year. Open to US Citizens, Green Card holders, and Green Card EAD holders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design control systems; develop and implement bench tests.
• Alter software and equipment to ensure sensors and actuators function according to specifications; support and debug complex problems and change requests.
• Install and provide technical support for Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based hardware and software.
• Coach and mentor less experienced Controls Engineers.
• Support Control activities for RMEP, CEP, and CMEP Plant transformation in Assembly and/or Machining areas, including:
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to develop and improve plant processes and equipment.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to drive programming, network, architecture, hardware, and documentation standards for new equipment.
  • Perform PLC, HMI, and MES programming changes.
  • Provide production support as needed.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of experience in control systems engineering.
• Rockwell Automation ControlLogix system design experience, including motion, ladder logic, and safety programming.
• Proficiency in Rockwell Software PLC Programming (Studio 5000) and HMI Programming (FactoryTalk View Studio).
• Understanding of PLC hardware and communication protocols.
• Preferred knowledge in:
  • Siemens Step 7 or other PLC versions (function block and structured text programming desired).
  • Robotic Systems: Fanuc and Nachi.
  • Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence, and Coherix.
  • Fanuc PMC ladder in CNC equipment.
