Primary duties
- Monitor and operate the jail’s automated security and access-control systems.
- Observe, record and control movement within secure jail areas.
- Control public access and monitor alarms, intercoms and door controls.
- Maintain jail records and process warrants, summonses and related legal documents.
- Operate office and Law Enforcement Data Systems equipment while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support corrections personnel and communicate effectively during disruptive situations.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years old and a United States citizen.
- Possess and maintain driving privileges in Oregon.
- Two years of experience or equivalent training in office procedures and computer operation.
- Obtain and maintain LEDS certification within three months of appointment.
- Ability to satisfy the employer’s pre-employment screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CCTV systems in a jail, prison or detention environment.
- Previous correctional or law-enforcement experience.
- College-level computer coursework.
- Spanish-language and intercultural communication skills.
Schedule
