Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and control the process parameters of the LNG storage tank, pretreatment and liquefaction units, and LNG truck filling operations through a computerized control system
- Operate the DCS controls systems for the LNG Operations
- Operate all plant equipment required for the type of process in operation, liquefaction, trucking, and stand-by, as needed
- Perform routine checks of equipment and processes to ensure safe and efficient operations, including monitoring temperatures, pressures, and flow rates
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance personnel to schedule and perform necessary preventative maintenance activities and repairs, while ensuring that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently
- Maintain accurate logs of equipment and process operations, as well as any maintenance or repair activities
- Takes equipment readings, interprets abnormal readings and alarms to take pre-designated corrective action including activation of emergency equipment and procedures
- Respond to alarms and take appropriate actions to troubleshoot and resolve any issues
- Conduct safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take corrective actions to prevent accidents or injuries
- Conduct regular equipment and systems tests, and inspections to ensure reliability and availability
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercise and respond to actual emergencies as needed
- Work without supervision on maintaining proper plant operation, security, and emergency equipment and procedures, notifies Supervision of any abnormalities
- Complete company sponsored training as required
Requirements
- Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school
- Previous experience working in the LNG or industrial gases industry is highly preferred, and experience in a PHMSA regulated LNG facility is a plus
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of LNG operations, including liquefaction, storage, and LNG truck loading operations
- Experience in operating and maintaining LNG plant equipment
- Knowledge of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to LNG operations
- Proficient in analyzing equipment readings and promptly addressing alarms and abnormal conditions with precision
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with other team members and departments
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for maintaining plant operations and emergency equipment and procedures
- Willingness to participate in emergency drills and exercises and respond to actual emergencies as needed
- Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License at all times
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Physical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds
- Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.)
- Working with hazardous materials may be required
- There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility
Working Schedule
- Regular scheduled workdays based on a 12-hour rotating shift schedule
- Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions
- "On call" status will periodically be required
