About the role
We’re seeking an experienced (mid to senior level) Contracts Manager to support both prime contracts and subcontracts in a fast‑paced government‑contracting environment. This role is ideal for someone who excels at balancing compliance, negotiation, and relationship‑building, while keeping programs running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Administer the full lifecycle of prime contracts and subcontracts, from award through closeout.
- Review, negotiate, and manage contract and subcontract terms, modifications, and flow‑downs.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, agency supplements, and internal policies.
- Coordinate with Program Management, Finance, Security, and Supply Chain to ensure contractual requirements are understood and met.
- Cost proposal support including RFP review, document preparation/redlines, flow‑downs, risk analysis, teammate communication, and compliance.
- Monitor funding and contractual obligations.
- Work closely with program and finance teams on funding strategy, deliverables, performance, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate contract files and Unanet GovCon system.
- Assist with internal/external audits.
- Serve as a key point of contact for government COs, primes, subs, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead contract strategy, negotiation, and execution for high‑value federal programs.
- Advise executives and program leadership on contractual risk, pricing, and compliance.
- Manage relationships with government COs, prime contractors, subcontractors, legal counsel, and auditors.
- Drive audit readiness and support CPSR, DCAA, DCMA, and internal reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, contract management, or related field.
- Government Contract Management experience: mid‑level 5+ years, senior level 10+ years.
- Experience supervising, managing, or mentoring contracting staff.
- Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS and subcontract administration.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating contractual terms.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- TS/SCI clearance with appropriate level polygraph (current/active strongly preferred).
Qualifications
- Strongly preferred: experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal civilian agencies; familiarity with CPSR environments; understanding of CUI/NISPOM requirements.
- Senior level should also possess: demonstrated success negotiating complex contract terms and handling high‑visibility programs; experience managing subcontract portfolios and leading contract professionals; exceptional communication and executive‑level briefing skills.
Skills
Key skills include contract negotiation, compliance management, stakeholder communication, financial analysis, risk assessment, and proficiency with Unanet GovCon system.
But we already listed many skills in Requirements; maybe we can omit Skills section if it's thin. However we have some skill summary not captured elsewhere: "proficiency with Unanet GovCon system" is mentioned in responsibilities but not as skill. Could be okay to have Skills section.
But we need to ensure we don't create thin sections. The Skills section we wrote is a paragraph with some skills; it's substantive enough.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Paid time off.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) plan.
Pay
Salary ranges: mid‑level $130,000 to $170,000; senior level $160,000 to $200,000. Salaries outside these ranges may be considered based on qualifications (including years of experience, education, certifications, and skills).
Schedule
Telework/hybrid work schedule: some level of telework offered, with requirement to report to office space when needed.
We must ensure we didn't include any boilerplate like "More details can be found here: Nexxis Benefits Overview". We omitted that.
Check for duplicated lines: we have not duplicated.
Check for any leftover EEO etc: removed.
Check for any mention of "Nexxis Solutions offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package (including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k and more)." We captured that in Benefits.
Check for "Clearance: TS/SCI with appropriate level poly required (current/active strongly preferred)" included in Requirements.
Check for "Why You’ll Love Working Here" content: we omitted that; we need to include that as maybe part of Benefits? Actually it's a separate section about why you'll love working here: meaningful mission impact, collaborative team environment, professional growth opportunities, competitive compensation and benefits. That's substantive and not covered elsewhere. Should we create a section for that? The allowed headings include Benefits, Pay, Schedule, etc. Not a generic "Why you'll love working here". But we could incorporate those points into Benefits or maybe a separate section like "What we offer". However the instruction only lists specific headings; but says "use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)."
