Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare protein therapeutic formulations and buffers according to established protocols.
- Perform buffer exchange, protein concentration, and related sample preparation workflows.
- Support analytical testing and characterization of protein samples using established methods.
- Accurately document experimental procedures, observations, and results in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
- Organize, analyze, and summarize experimental data for review by the Formulation Development team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment.
- Collaborate with team members across Formulation Development and Technical Operations.
- Communicate progress, results, and technical observations clearly and in a timely manner.
- Assist with troubleshooting routine laboratory and experimental issues.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, bioengineering, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with proteins, biologics, or related biomolecules.
- Experience with common protein formulation or sample preparation techniques such as buffer preparation, buffer exchange, dialysis, ultrafiltration, centrifugation, and concentration.
- Familiarity with analytical methods used for protein characterization.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality experimental execution.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to laboratory safety and good laboratory practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with therapeutic proteins, antibodies, enzymes, or other biologics.
- Familiarity with formulation development workflows for biologics.
- Proficiency with advanced Excel functions for data organization, analysis, and visualization.
- Comfort with automation tools or automated laboratory/data workflows.
- Basic programming or scripting skills, such as Python, R, VBA, or similar, to support automated data analysis.
- Experience handling large datasets from analytical instruments or formulation studies.
