Typical Tasks

The Fresno Superior Court is seeking qualified attorneys who are interested in accepting special appointments in the following areas:

• Minor's Counsel – Family Law
• Guardian ad Litem - Family Law or Dependency Matters
• Appointed Counsel – Dependency Cases
• Appellate Panel – Appellate Division (Traffic, Misdemeanor, and Limited Civil Appeals)
• CARE Petition Conflict Counsel
• Civil Indigent Pro Bono Representation
• Rights of Habeas Corpus
• Racial Justice Act Appointments

Minimum Qualifications

Current active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

Additional Information

Court-Appointed Attorney: $306.00 flat fee for the first 3 hours worked, plus $102.00 per hour for each hour thereafter. Guardian Ad Litem: $50.00 per hour. Special Circumstance Case Appointments: Compensation will be based on the case category, with the category and applicable fees to be determined by the Court at the time of approval of an appointment. The Court retains the right to revise category descriptions and applicable fees at any time.
