Contract Specialist
About the role
The Contract Specialist will conduct market research and acquisition planning. This includes preparing and issuing solicitations such as Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and Invitations for Bids (IFBs). They will also develop source selection plans and evaluation criteria, perform cost and price analysis, assist in proposal evaluation, prepare contract award documents, administer contracts, monitor contractor performance, process contract modifications, review invoices for payment, assist in claim and dispute resolution, and perform contract closeout procedures.
Responsibilities
- Carry out market research and acquisition planning
- Prepare and issue solicitations, including RFQs, RFPs, and IFBs
- Develop source selection plans and evaluation criteria
- Perform cost and price analysis
- Aid in proposal evaluation
- Prepare contract award documents
- Administer contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions
- Maintain oversight of contractor performance and progress
- Process contract modifications
- Review and process invoices for payment
- Aid in the resolution of claims and disputes
- Conduct contract closeout procedures
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in federal contracting
- A thorough understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and its supplements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Understanding of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
