Contract Safety Tech – Data Center Construction

Pay: $42.00 per hour + overtime + $150/day per diem (7 days/week).

About the role

We are seeking a highly qualified Contract Safety Manager to support a large-scale data center construction project in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This position requires a proven safety professional with experience managing site safety for complex construction environments. Candidates must hold an OSHA 510 and be capable of working closely with site leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives.

Responsibilities

• Enforce site safety compliance in accordance with OSHA, client, and internal policies
• Conduct daily safety audits, inspections, and toolbox talks
• Lead new hire and subcontractor safety orientations
• Maintain and review job safety analyses (JSAs), logs, and reports
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning
• Serve as the on-site authority for safety practices and standards
• Coordinate closely with project management and trade partners

Requirements

• OSHA 510 certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety; data center or industrial project experience preferred
• Strong understanding of OSHA standards and site safety protocols
• Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced, multi-trade construction environment

Pay

• $42 per hour (based on experience)
• Overtime eligible
• $150/day per diem (paid 7 days/week)
• Weekly pay with direct deposit

Schedule

• Contract duration: Minimum 6 months, with potential for extension
• Immediate start available
• Full-time, on-site
