Contract Outpatient Therapist

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Outpatient Therapist (OPT) to join our team. This role involves conducting client assessments, managing a caseload, and collaborating with the Clinical Director to ensure high-quality mental health services.

Location

Fully Remote; minimal travel required to sites

Hours

Part-Time, 16-20 hours per week, flexible schedule

Reports To

Director of Clinical Services and Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate Urgency & Complexity: Assess clients to determine appropriate next steps and prioritize interventions.
• Medical Necessity Determination: Ensure clients meet medical necessity criteria for appropriate care levels.
• Collaborate with Clinical Director: Help allocate resources effectively across all locations.
• Referral Qualification: Evaluate incoming referrals to ensure they meet eligibility criteria.
• Admissions Decisions: Make informed decisions based on company policies and client needs.
• Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct diagnostic assessments, gathering information on medical history, mental health status, and social support.
• Risk & Strength Evaluation: Identify risk factors, strengths, and available resources to inform treatment planning.
• Provide outpatient therapy and diagnostic assessments as needed.

Required Education & Experience

• Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited program.
• Licensure: Must hold active licensure as one of the following in the state of practice: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW or LCSWA), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC or LCMHC-A), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS or LCAS-A).
• Experience: Preferably a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience in mental health or substance abuse treatment settings.

Skills

• Strong clinical assessment & diagnostic skills using standardized criteria.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and interdisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices and treatment modalities.
• EHR Proficiency: Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation and compliance.
