About the Role

This full-time position provides oversight, direction, and coordination for all operations and maintenance (O&M) activities at an assigned jobsite to ensure adherence to contractual objectives. The role supervises and coordinates skilled trades workers engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, structures, utility systems, buildings, and grounds. The position requires assisting in emergencies relating to clinic equipment operation and repair, with potential 24/7 on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Operations & Maintenance Management administration functions, handling a variety of actions and problems relating to assigned contract(s).
  • Monitor management plans designed to accomplish contractual objectives and provide direction and support to subcontractors, support staff, trades, and crafts.
  • Schedule work to be performed and submit various monthly progress reports in accordance with contract and company requirements.
  • Manage and commit contract resources; monitor budgets on assigned contracts.
  • Ensure the safety of all personnel on the job, including subcontractor personnel, compliance with environmental standards, and quality of work performed.
  • Conduct staff training, safety meetings, and briefings.
  • Research and address customer and employee complaints.
  • Perform over-the-shoulder inspections and help maintain a safe work environment.
  • Be on-site during the Government’s regular working hours.
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in embedded inpatient healthcare maintenance and operations.
  • 5 years of experience with The Joint Commission (TJC).
  • Current Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in comparable facility operations and maintenance, including supervision of a diversified workforce responsible for 24/7 operations, maintenance, and repair of comparable facility systems.
  • Formal training related to Life Safety Code standards.
  • Working experience with EPA and OSHA codes and standards.
  • 5 years of experience with compliance documentation for O&M operations, such as DMLSS and DMLSS work requests, including supporting testing, certification, and verification documentation.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Experience with computer programs including Microsoft Suite, CMMS, and BAS.
  • Demonstrated capability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to read and understand blueprints.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in extreme heat and a full range of climatic conditions. The role requires wearing uncomfortable protective clothing and devices when working with hazardous chemicals. Exposure to hazardous gases, high-pressure gases, hot liquids, dirt, dust, oil, and grease is possible. Physical demands include:

  • Standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Working on ladders, scaffolds, platforms, roofs, and in cramped equipment rooms or confined spaces (e.g., ductwork, pits, crawl spaces).
  • Lifting and carrying equipment to heights up to 30-40 feet.
  • Ability to push 50 pounds (maintenance equipment) and lift a minimum of 50 pounds (supplies and equipment).
  • Possible exposure to hazardous materials, requiring the use of respirators and personal protective safety attire.
