About the role

The Contract Administrator II position within the City of Baltimore involves reviewing, analyzing, and verifying documents submitted by contractors and vendors. This role compiles reports necessary for the finalization of services, commodities, or construction contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Audit contractors' and vendors’ estimates, invoices, and extra work orders.
  • Interpret and explain City contract procedures.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Interpret Standard Operating Procedures for construction project life cycle.
  • Establish and maintain effective liaison with contractors, vendors, project managers, consultants, engineers, and Federal, State, City, and private utility company personnel.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Produce graphs and charts and prepare written documents using standard business pc computers and software.
  • Maintain records and write reports.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: Two years of experience in contract administration, project management, or project coordination.
  • Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates: Valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver’s license or an equivalent out-of-state driver’s license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management.

  • Knowledge of practices and procedures of services, commodities, or construction contract administration including contract auditing, legal terminology, and the processing of final contract documents.
  • Knowledge of common business, database, spreadsheet, and project management software.
  • Ability to audit contractors' and vendors’ estimates, invoices, and extra work orders.
  • Ability to interpret and explain City contract procedures.
  • Ability, when applicable, to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Ability, when applicable, to interpret Standard Operating Procedures for construction project life cycle.

Pay

$60,877.00 - $99,222.00 Annually

Schedule

Conventional workweek.

Additional Information

  • Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint required.
  • Probation period of six months.
  • Eligible for appointments as vacancies arise.
  • Background check eligibility determined by the Director of Human Resources.
