Typical Duties

  • Administer contracts from award throughout closeout.
  • Review solicitations, contracts, modifications, and related contractual documents.
  • Coordinate work of engineering and production departments to implement fulfillment of the contract.
  • Reviews and analyzes the Company’s risk associated with: performance requirements, delivery schedules, delivery estimates for completeness, consistency and responsiveness to the requirements of the contract.
  • Responds to all customer inquiries pertaining to assigned programs.
  • Reviews, monitors and processes all correspondence with customers.
  • Cook up and submit contract deliverables, such as reports and required notices.
  • Maintain official contract files and ensure complete documentation of contract actions.
  • Draft routine correspondence to customers regarding administrative matters.
  • Reports to Company management on the progress of the Contract, known or possible time or cost overruns, and other matters related to the Contract or to the Company’s relationship with the customer as requested.
  • May advise planning, production and program management departments of Company’s rights and obligations as set forth in the Contract.
  • May compile data for preparing estimates for proposed contracts and otherwise coordinate with subcontract and estimating departments.
  • Responsible for the coordination of equipment, materials, products, or services by the Company in connection with contracts.
  • Track contract funding, correspondence, periods of performance, deliverables, and key milestones.
  • Monitor compliance with contract clauses, including FAR, DFARS, and other terms and conditions of contracts.
  • Maintain complete and accurate contract files and documentation in accordance with Company Policies.
  • Aid with contract closeout activities, including final deliverables, property disposition, and administrative closeout.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of contract administration and Regulatory policies and practices such as FAR and DFAR.
  • Experience in Government Contracts in a defense, shipbuilding, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • College degree or equivalent college level course study in Business Administration, Business Law, Contract Law, related field, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Desirable Experience & Training

  • Considerable to extensive experience in Administering Government Contracts in a defense, shipbuilding, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Considerable knowledge of Company policies, procedures and practices or the ability to acquire it quickly.
  • Ability to establish and meet goals, and to lead and function on a team effectively with all employee levels.
  • Strong analytical, organizations, and communication skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Organization and time management.
