Continuous Improvement Intern - Summer

Description

This position will help drive 5S and MDI (daily management) activity across all of our manufacturing processes. The CI intern will also support continuous improvement projects (Six Sigma, Kaizen, 8D) through data collection, statistical analysis and other problem‑solving activities. This is intended to be a hands‑on position where a majority of the time will be spent in our production facilities. Projects include:

• Improving shop safety and productivity through 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities
• Implementing SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) daily management tracking and sustainment
• Rapid problem solving using the 8D and Kaizen toolsets
• Collecting and analyzing data using Six Sigma methodology

Requirements

Candidates should be pursuing degrees in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials/Metallurgical Engineering, with a minimum junior status preferred.
