About the role

The Lifelong Learning Department is seeking a part-time German instructor to teach evening class(es) in our continuing education World Languages program at our Arnold campus this Fall. Previous teaching experience is required. Candidates invited for an interview will be asked to give a short teaching demonstration. The instructor must follow the curriculum outline and learning expectations as provided. Content is housed in Canvas Learning Management System.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily instructional lesson plans aligned with the established curriculum, ensuring adherence to the college’s philosophy, policies, and guidelines.
• Deliver engaging and high-quality instruction through lectures and hands-on classes, whether on campus, off campus, or remotely, in accordance with the professional standards of Anne Arundel Community College.
• Engage in clear, professional, and timely communication with students, faculty, and staff to foster collaboration and support.
• Ensure prompt and accurate submission of grades, attendance records, reports, and other required documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in German language studies or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience teaching the German language.
• Proficient German language skills.
• Some computer experience.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom.

Schedule

• Evenings
• This position requires some regular in-person presence on campus or at alternative locations, depending on business needs.

Pay

$46.90/hour

As a part-time faculty employee, you are entitled to benefits (details available upon request). Pay dates occur on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If those dates fall on a weekend, the pay date occurs on the Friday prior.
