About the Role
PuroClean of Central Southwest Houston is looking to hire someone motivated and willing to serve their community. Reporting to the Contents Pack-out Manager, the Contents Technician will work hand in hand with other members of the team under supervision, as well as individually in processing personal property (contents) in residential and commercial settings.
Responsibilities
Work under supervision in residential and commercial settings handling personal property (contents) as follows:
- Packing, loading & transport
- Disassembly and reassembly
- Inventorying and chain of custody
- Deodorization (ozone, foggers, etc.)
- Cleaning and laundering items
- Participate as directed in vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
- Maintaining vehicles in clean, serviceable condition
- Identify salvageable versus non-salvageable contents
- Inventory photographing
- Provide excellent Customer Service
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines
- Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people's property and information
- Will always practice good housekeeping to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite
- Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment
- Comply with all Above All Cleaning and Restoration policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements
- Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person
- This role could be required to act as a "lead" periodically as designated by their manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Current driver's license and MVR that is compliant with PuroClean Insurance requirements
- Clean background check subject to applicable law
- Ability to sustain periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- While performing duties, regularly required to stand for long periods in different temperatures and elements; walk; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear
- Frequently required to climb or balance
- Occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Regularly required to drive to and visit project sites that have incurred catastrophic events from fire, water, and storm damage
- Must be able to access roofs, carry a 40' ladder from truck and set it up at the roof line
- Must be able to carry a minimum of 75 pounds in weight for the purpose of getting material to a specific place on the project site
Skills
- Good verbal and written communication
- Work well with a team of subcontractors/employees and independently
- Basic / Intermediate / Advanced computer and/or tablet/iPad experience with Encircle, Microsoft Office and Dash
- Detail oriented
- Takes direction well but also takes initiative to start and finish work without prompting
- Exhibits great care while in a client's home and working with a client's belongings
- Self-starter, strong work ethic, great organizational skills, and planning
- Speaks fluently English
- Spanish would be a plus
- IICRC certifications would be a plus
