Content Writer (Entry-Level, Journalism Background)

We acquire or partner with digital media brands—content websites, YouTube channels, social media creators, podcasts, and newsletters—and scale them through tech, content, and distribution infrastructure. About the role
We're hiring freelance Content Writers to contribute to one of LH2's digital media brands reaching 5M+ readers monthly. This is a great starting point for a recent journalism/communications grad with college newspaper or magazine experience who wants consistent freelance writing work and a byline on a high-traffic publication. This is a contract/freelance role—fully remote, open to candidates based anywhere in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Write 500-word articles on journalism topics based on assigned or self-sourced story ideas
- Research and fact-check quickly and independently
- Follow our house style guide and SEO writing guidelines
- Hit assigned deadlines consistently—this is recurring freelance work, not a one-off gig
- Take editorial feedback and revise efficiently
Requirements
- Recent graduate (2024–2026) with writing experience at a college newspaper, magazine, or campus publication
- Strong grammar, structure, and ability to write fast without sacrificing quality
- Based in the United States, available to work US business hours for editor communication/turnaround
- Comfortable with a per-article freelance structure (no salary/benefits)
- Self-starter—freelancers who need heavy day-to-day management aren't a fit for this format
Pay
- Paid per published article, up to $20/article depending on length and complexity
- Paid on a monthly basis via domestic ACH transfer
Writers who consistently hit quality and deadline bars get first access to higher-volume assignments.
