Content Coordinator
The Southern California News Group, a subsidiary of MediaNews Group, is seeking a content coordinator for sports.
About the role
Assist with the print production for multiple sports sections on multiple deadlines, ensuring copy flow, copy editing stories, writing headlines, display copy, and proofreading pages.
Responsibilities
- Play an essential role in quality control for the many sports print editions
- Communicate with other members of the print desk during afternoon and evening shifts
- Perform regular copy editing of sports stories
- Write headlines and display copy (captions, subheads, etc.) throughout the sports sections
- Proofread completed pages
Requirements
- Experience in a similar role at a daily newspaper
- Strong journalism and editing skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with page designers, reporters, and editors
- Ability to learn new content management systems quickly
- Knowledge of Southern California sports scene is a plus

Pay
$24.52 per hour.
