Containerized Waste Processing Tech
About the Role
The Processing Technician ensures safe, effective treatment and handling of containerized wastes by properly receiving, screening, unloading, treating, and tracking incoming waste streams and outgoing residuals.
Responsibilities
- Reviews, signs, and processes incoming manifests, noting any discrepancies.
- Directs off-loading operations for receipt of primarily non-bulk containers into the facility’s storage systems for process and handling.
- Uses handheld bar code scanner as the primary internal recordkeeping system to ensure the safe, effective handling and inventory of containerized wastes.
- Performs forklift operations to facilitate the handling of all non-bulk containerized wastes.
- Collects and analyzes waste samples.
- Consolidates like-wastes wherever possible in order to improve economic outcomes.
- Stores waste containers properly in all designated plant storage areas.
- Assists in the generation of internal bar code labels and accurately places them on all containers as they are received.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to use light equipment, such as forklift and pallet-jack.
- Basic knowledge of computer operations to properly operate handheld scanners.
- Skilled using hand and shop tools.
- Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused, and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $18.90 to $26.02 per hour, reflecting the minimum wage in multiple jurisdictions. The actual range will depend on the locality in which you are hired.
