Consumer Loan Underwriter

We are hiring an experienced Consumer Loan Underwriter to join a growing lending team! Great opportunity for someone who enjoys making sound credit decisions while still keeping member service top of mind.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite direct and indirect consumer loan applications
• Review credit reports, income, DTI, collateral values, and overall creditworthiness
• Approve, decline, or condition loans within assigned lending authority
• Review loan documentation for accuracy and compliance
• Partner closely with loan officers, branch teams, and lending leadership
• Identify additional lending opportunities and help grow member relationships
• Maintain accurate loan files and underwriting documentation
• Ensure compliance with lending policies and applicable regulations
• Deliver timely decisions in a fast-paced lending environment

Requirements

• 2-5 years of consumer loan underwriting experience
• Credit union or financial institution experience preferred
• Strong understanding of consumer credit and lending guidelines
• Experience with both direct and indirect lending is a plus
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and time management skills
• High school diploma/GED or higher required
