Consumer Finance Litigation Associate
About the role
Husch Blackwell LLP is seeking a Consumer Finance Litigation Associate with three to five years of relevant experience. This position is open to candidates residing and licensed in California, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, New York, or Ohio, though candidates from other states may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Defend financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- Work with attorneys in the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit
- Represent mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- Have a working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
Requirements
- Experience defending financial services companies in both state and federal courts
- A working knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and other federal and state consumer protection statutes
- Experience representing mortgage servicers and/or originators in contested foreclosures, quiet title actions, title disputes, and related claims
- An active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commitment to obtaining one as soon as possible
- Excellent academic credentials, a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure
- Exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action

Pay
Compensation range for this position in California, Colorado, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, and Washington, D.C. is $200,000 - $230,000, and in Minnesota and Vermont is $210,000 - $225,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
