Consumer Collector

The Role

The Consumer Collector is responsible for conducting collection functions to reduce overall delinquency and prevent losses. This position performs outreach to members with delinquent unsecured loans, and other departmental duties including but not limited to charge-off loan processing, settlement maintenance, loan modification processing, account maintenance, and other unsecured account functions.

Responsibilities

• Handles incoming member contacts (calls, emails, etc.) and makes outbound calls.
• Processes legal collections work.
• Remains proficient in various areas of collections.
• Manages delinquent accounts according to Collection Policy and Procedures.
• Analyzes and maintains past-due consumer loans to prevent further delinquency.
• Researches and analyzes accounts using collections software and other sources.
• Counsels members on reduced and deferred payments.
• Ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations and manages risks within assigned responsibilities.
• Ensures satisfactory work production with third-party vendors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (Required)

Qualifications

• Any equivalent combination of experience and education.
