Responsibilities

  • Cultivate professional relationships with customers, using assessment tools to uncover financial needs, make recommendations, and submit referrals to banking center team members or line of business partners.
  • Utilize assessment tools to maintain detailed notes on customer conversations and interactions.
  • Open and service deposit accounts, facilitating and processing transactions accurately to minimize errors and reduce fraud.
  • Actively participate in morning huddles, calling efforts, business development, and coaching conversations with leadership.
  • Demonstrate empathy and proactively resolve client concerns in a timely, professional manner, escalating issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with line of business partners to foster teamwork, exceptional customer service, and continuous learning.
  • Promote teamwork by leading by example and assisting others, providing backup to other retail banking roles and locations as necessary.
  • Model and champion the Bank’s standards for exceptional customer service while supporting its values and mission.
  • Display integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Complete all essential training in a timely manner and embrace continuous learning, applying feedback from experienced team members.
  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance, adhering to all Bank policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience interacting with people and displaying excellent service skills, demonstrated through work, military, and/or education.
  • Basic knowledge of personal finance and household budgeting.
  • Knowledge of bank products and services (e.g., online banking, mobile banking applications, banking cards).
  • Knowledge of bank policies and procedures.
  • Critical thinking and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service with a helpful, friendly, and professional disposition.
  • Ability to act as a trusted advisor with confidence and effective communication (verbal and written).
  • Team player approach, capable of thriving in a continually changing environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, and accurate productivity.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure, including safety and security protocols.
  • Ability to travel to other work locations (e.g., for training or staffing shortages) as needed.
  • Skill in using computers and Microsoft Office applications necessary for essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience explaining bank products, online banking, mobile banking applications, and banking cards.
  • Experience in retail customer service and/or sales.
  • NMLS certification preferred (required for lending activities).
