Consumer Bank Sales Specialist III

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (additional hours as necessary to meet department objectives)

About the role

Responsible for providing key support in coaching and training for branch colleagues. This role mentors, coaches, trains, and analyzes branch sales colleagues in roles such as Branch Manager, Banker, Universal Banker, and Teller. The position focuses on sales and service coaching to increase overall performance and customer satisfaction, as well as designing and facilitating training courses and preparing educational materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop proactive, strategic ideas through thought leadership to assist colleagues with meeting sales goals, uncovering customer needs, and training to the sales playbook.
• Conduct side-by-side coaching for retail branch colleagues across the bank footprint and provide detailed summaries of coaching plans to leadership, including joint calls and customer appointments.
• Serve as the subject matter expert supporting sales staff based on best-practice sales techniques and defined sales processes for retail branches.
• Proactively reach out to the sales team to identify inefficiencies in platform and process navigation, with special attention to new colleagues to help them become productive quickly.
• Partner with leadership to identify and analyze sales opportunities for products and/or services in support of business goals; monitor overall effectiveness throughout the sales process.
• Regularly schedule sales training, workshops, and skill-build clinics focused on topics such as products, services, sales processes, sales conversations, and customer experience.
• Develop and maintain training materials related to sales initiatives, including presentations, job aids, participant handouts, virtual class materials, and other resources.
• Report and present to management learnings and efficiencies gained from working directly with branch sales colleagues in the field.
• Travel to retail branch offices around the bank footprint.
• Prepare newly hired branch colleagues for the sales process by developing individual coaching plans.
• Maintain a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments and demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Obtain and maintain S.A.F.E. Act certification, including proof of registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier, required upon hire or prior to performing duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator. This registration must be maintained annually in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.

Requirements

• Four-year degree or equivalent in a business-related field such as finance, business administration, or accounting.
• Ten plus years of general business experience, with five to ten years of specialized experience and proven sales success.
• Successful completion of the retail training program.

Physical Demands

• Operates a keypad device 50-75% of the day; operates electronic equipment 25% of the day.
• Travel to alternate locations (local) 60-75% of the time; overnights 10% of the time.
• Ability to focus visually at a close distance of 18”-20” for up to 75% of the business day.
• Routinely lifts 10 pounds a couple of times per day to move computer equipment and supplies related to travel.

Pay

Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $161,700.00
