About the role

The Senior Relationship Banker role at Santander is a pivotal position within the company's ongoing transformation into a technology-driven organization. This role focuses on managing and enhancing client relationships, particularly in attracting and retaining high-value consumer and small business clients. The incumbent is expected to maximize cross-sales opportunities, provide exceptional customer service, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of high-value consumer and small business clients.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience through engagement in the branch, over the phone, and through collaboration with business partners.
  • Provide comprehensive support to clients, ensuring their needs are met and issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Proactively deepen relationships with new and existing customers through early engagement calls and regular outreach.
  • Absorb and communicate customer needs, recommending and delivering needs-based solutions while identifying and introducing key partners as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team members and partners to achieve branch goals and drive overall performance.
  • Participate in joint calling with Product partners to generate and deepen relationships with business customers.
  • Ensure an elevated customer experience through personalized, seamless, and attentive service, engaging customers through digital platforms and educating them on self-service options.
  • Employ critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address client inquiries and challenges effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers in person, over the phone, or through digital channels.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to risk and fraud defense.

Qualifications

  • 5+ Years Experience selling products and/or services in an incentive-based environment OR 2+ Years in Financial Services with direct experience acquiring new client relationships and developing existing client relationships OR 12+ Months Demonstrated successful Santander experience related to the essential functions and responsibilities of the Relationship Banker role AND 12+ Months Customer service experience within a high volume, fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
  • Motivated to help people achieve financial goals.
  • Strong financial acumen with a general knowledge of consumer and small business products, and lending.
  • Proven track record in sales and cross-selling products and services.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of clients effectively.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer proficiency and basic math skills.
  • Ability to work branch hours, which can include weekends and evenings.

What You Bring

  • Education: High school diploma or GED - Required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education - Preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ Years Experience selling products and/or services in an incentive-based environment OR 2+ Years in Financial Services with direct experience acquiring new client relationships and developing existing client relationships OR 12+ Months Demonstrated successful Santander experience related to the essential functions and responsibilities of the Relationship Banker role AND 12+ Months Customer service experience within a high volume, fast-paced and constantly changing environment - Required.
