About the role

ACRT, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to join our team. This position is ideal for those with a background in forestry, horticulture, environmental studies, conservation, or related fields, and with experience in utility vegetation management.

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
• Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers

Requirements

• 2 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field
• Versatile computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Competent in GIS integrated data collection software/hardware
• Self-motivated, organized, and production-oriented
• Comfortable working independently and managing geographical areas for vegetation activities
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules
• Valid driver's license

Qualifications

• Experience in utility vegetation management or related fields
• Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• GIS integrated data collection software/hardware experience preferred

• Interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors
