Consulting Utility Forester | Denver, CO

About the role

ACRT, Inc. is seeking a Consulting Utility Forester to work with Xcel Energy as a new construction vegetation planner in the Denver metro area. This position performs identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines, submits inspection results with recommendations, plans, directs, and coordinates tree clearance activities, and serves as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify, inspect, and evaluate trees and brush along utility lines
• Submit inspection results to clients with recommendations
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of assigned tree clearance crews
• Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues
• Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and client customers

Requirements

• 2 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field
• ISA Arborist, ISA Utility Specialist and/or TRAQ certifications preferred
• Very competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred
• Self-motivated, organized, production oriented
• Comfortable working independently and managing geographical areas
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills
• Multi-tasking and strong time management skills
• Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather with flexible schedules
• Valid driver's license required

Pay

The salary range for this position is from $25.50 min to $29.50 max. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to customer contact terms, location, experience, and performance.

Schedule

Flexible schedules available, including nights and weekends as needed.
