Consulting Systems Engineer, Cyber Consulting

The Consulting Systems Engineer position is part of Thrive's Cyber Consulting team. Thrive is a technology solutions provider specializing in Cloud, Cyber Security, Networking, Disaster Recovery, and Managed Services. Responsibilities

• Participate on teams serving clients across various industries while building trusted relationships with client counterparts.
• Facilitate due diligence processes to identify cybersecurity, operational, and technology strategy risks.
• Collaborate with team members to develop strategic, prioritized recommendations based on customer collaboration during consulting engagements.
• Assess client cybersecurity and technology investment strategies against recognized standards and industry benchmarks, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
• Develop executive-ready client presentations capturing current state, key findings, and long-term strategy recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent accreditation in a related field (Operations Management, Management Information Systems, Information Technology).
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in cybersecurity or IT.
• Existing CISSP or CISM certification or willingness to achieve certification quickly.
• Knowledge of industry-standard cyber security frameworks, such as CIS controls.
• Administrative-level knowledge in VMware, Hyper-V, Windows, UNIX, Linux, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, IAM, Azure, AWS, and Google public clouds.
• Operational and technology experience in MSP, MSSP, software/hitech, healthcare, and/or manufacturing/distribution organizations.
• Ability to assist in creating customer-facing documents and presentations.
